The 'boom' or anti-submarine net across Halifax Harbor
Mayfair, October 1945, p.36, include this photograph with accompanying caption, "The 'boom' or anti-submarine net across Halifax Harbor, until war's end one of the most censorship of subjects. Lifting of the boom was to Haligonians most significant of victory, since it meant the end of the submarine menace and the return of normal shipping conditions. Net hangs from globular steel buoys"
